The engraving from which this print is taken is believed to have been produced by or for Captain William Richards, in connection with his survey and report into the mine commissioned by Alfred Endean (and possibly the directors). Prints from the engraving are believed to have been produced for internal circulation amongst pre-existing shareholders and officers of the company, not for publication.
