Description

Lease from Henry Preston' of Coventr' to William Osburne `baxter' and Alice his wife of a messuage in Flete Strete, Coventr', situate between the tenement of the Guild of the Holy Trinity and the tenement of John Prentys, chaplain, in breadth, and in length extending from the said street to the common ditch `continentem into Shirburne'; to hold the same for 30 years from the feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin next following, rendering weekly to the said Henry 10 pence of silver, the said William and Alice convenanting to maintain the said premises at their own expense and to make within the said messuage within six years from the date of these presents an oven called `a baxteres ovene' and one useful bakehouse and to repair and maintain them at their own costs. Witnesses: John Goot, mayor of Coventr', William Crosse and Richard Joye, bailiffs of the same, Hugh Ruggeley, John Naylleston', John Neweton' and others. Dated at Coventre 26 February, 7 Henry V.
