Description

Assignment from Isabell Gressold of Stonley, widow and executrix of Thomas Gresold, late of Stoneley, yeoman, to Simon Chamber of Bynley, gent., reciting that Arthur Gregorye of Stivechall, esq., by indenture dated 22 May, 24 Elizabeth [no. 1229], demised to George Marbury, citizen and haberdasher of London, the Grange or Township with appurtenances called Kingshull in the parish of Stonley and all messuages, lands, tenements, closes, meadows, etc. to the said Grange or township belonging, then in the several occupations of William Fynnis, Richard Sharrat, Thomas Morrys, John Cottall and William Stratford for a term of 60 years; and reciting that the said term of years by `meane' assignments came to one John Bott, deceased, who assigned it to the said Thomas Gressold upon trust as is by indentures dated 4 October 1612 [no. 1239] and 18 May 1616 [no. 1242] expressed, and reciting that Thomas Gresold by his will appointed Isabell his wife as his executrix. It is now witnessed that Isabell Gresold, in performance of an order in Chancery, dated 28 October last, in a suit between Simon Chamber, plaintiff, and John Gregorye and Isabell Gresold, defendants, has assigned to Simon Chamber all her interest in the said lease of 60 years of the aforesaid premises.
