Description

Lease from Brother Henry prior of the church of the Blessed Mary in Coventr' and the convent of the same to William le Westerne of Styvechale, Alice his wife and Alice their eldest daughter of a virgate of land with appurtenances pertaining to the chapel of [Stivechale] and an acre of waste land between the land of John del Horewelle and the highway leading [towards Kenelworth]; to hold of the said prior and convent for the duration of the lives of the said William, Alice and Alice, [rendering annually 13s. 4d. at the four terms usual in] the vill of Stivechale; and the said property to revert to the said convent at the end of the said term. Witnesses: [William de Haldeneby], bailiff of Coventr', Roger de Pacwode, coroner of the same, Sir William Mauclerk', Geoffrey de [Wyteley, Adam de] Okes, John le Eyr, Thomas de Barewe and others. Given in the chapter at Coventr', Saturday on the vigil of the feast of St. Simon and St. Jude, 1313. Seal on tag; circular, white; defaced.
