Cheeke, Russell Tipping families: Archer of Tanworth

Description

Account of the late King's debt to Thomas Cheeke, showing £4,194:2:11 1/2 to be due on the quarterly bills for safekeeping of prisoners in the Tower from 1679 to 1685, £416 for arrears of salary, and £2,500 in lieu of various perquisites. These sums are demanded by virtue of letters of privy seal dated 29 June 3 Charles II; the quarterly bills to 1683, signed and allowed by Sir Robert Howard, auditor of the exchequer, and by six of the Privy Council, are in the custody of Mr. Guy at the Treasury Chambers.
