Cheeke, Russell Tipping families: Archer of Tanworth

Description

Germain Colladon to William Hill. Letter. Hill's refusal to accept his two bills of exchange has caused him much shame, and a loss of near £50 on account of the fall in exchange. Hill's proposal for a remedy is to no purpose. It is Mr. Cheeke who will suffer by the loss. DR 37/2/Box 98/44-59 are fastened together with thread at the top left hand corner. The letters from Geneva are all presumed to be dated old style, though the letters O.S. have been added wherever Collandon has used them. Padua, 14 Dec 1696 N.S. [4 Dec O.S.]
