Draft mortgage by Job Hobbins, late of Shottery, gent., now of S/A, law stationer, and Thomas Umbers, S/A, gent. to Henry Baldwin, S/A, butcher, for £800 and interest (of which £300 payable to Umbers as earlier mortgagee, of reversionary interest, expectant upon the death of Elizabeth Edkins the elder, of Shottery, under the will (dated 22 July 1817, see ER 5/411) of Job Hobbins the elder, uncle of the said Job Hobbins in farmhouse, outbuildings and garden in Shottery, formerly 3 tenements in the occupations of W. Skinner and William Robbins with 5 closes of land near Shottery and part of Shottery Meadow, being in all 85a. 3r. 2p. Also piece of land in Shottery beside the homestead of Mrs. Ann Zouch. All which lands were devised to Job Hobbins, the uncle, deceased, by the will of Mrs. Hannah Cotterell. Also part of Skinners Close devised by will of Hannah Cotterell, and part purchased of the Marquis of Hertford. Also newly erected house and premises in which Job Hobbins, deceased, dwelt which were formerly land in occupation of William Skinner and William Godfrey.
