Draft release by Francis Lawley, Middleton Hall, Warks., esq., and James Arkell, Cheltenham, Glos., mealman to William Southam, S/A, gent., in consideration of £60 of (1) piece of ground 327 sq. yards, being part of the Shop Ground, Old Stratford. (2) piece of ground abutting (1) on the South and fronting the Birmingham Road, being 130 sq. yards in the Borough of Stratford-upon-Avon. Which pieces of ground have been for several years occupied by the white Lion Inn. Recitals (1) 18 19 Apr 1822 Conveyance by Charles Smith, John Payton and others to Thomas Arkell and James Arkell. (2) 19 20 Apr 1822 Mortgage by Thomas and James Arkell to Thomas Adkins, Milcote for £3,000. (3) 24 25 Dec 1829 Transfer of mortgage Thomas Adkins to Francis Lawley in trust to sell. (4) 12 Oct 1830 Will of Thomas Arkell, leaving property to wife Elizabeth Parker Arkell to sell, pay debts and divide residue between children. (5) [Dec. 1830] Death of Elizabeth Arkell leaving Thomas Arkell junior her eldest son and heir at law. (6) 16 17 Jan 1832: Conveyance by Thomas Arkell of his moiety to James Arkell on trust to sell and apply monies according to will of Thomas Arkell senior. Recitals in re (2) 16 17 Apr 1834 Conveyance by Ann Fellows, widow, to James Arkell.
