Draft mortgage for £700 and interest by Henry Roberts, S/A, esq. to John Wells, Shennington, Alderminster, Worcs., gent. of (1) Land in Rother Street, S/A, whereon messuage and malthouse lately stood, together with newly erected stables, coach-house etc. thereon [nos.5-6]. (2) Garden ground behind said stables extending down to Back Lane abutted on N by (1), on NW by new cottages of John Lord, by Back Lane on W. and on S by Corporation barn leased to Thomas Mason. (3) Piece of ground, formerly a footpath, from back of Dissenting Meeting house to Back Lane, which now forms part of (2) and was accepted by Francis Richardson in 1784 in exchange for garden ground behind the Dissenting Meeting house now used as a burial ground thereto. (4) Leasehold house Rother Market [7] in occupation Henry Roberts [see DR 392/14]. Recitals (1) 20 21 Dec 1810 Conveyance Henry Richardson to Henry Roberts [see DR 392/12-13]. (2) 7 April 1809 Assignment of lease for 99 years (originally dated 17 Nov 1783) by Richard Bayzand with consent of Mayor and Aldermen to Henry Roberts, of newly erected messuage on side of 4 cottages [see ER 3/5066].
