Description

Counterpart of lease, indented, from John Palmer, chaplain of the Gild of the Holy Cross and the Blessed Mary of Stratford upon Auen, to John Harrappe and Marjory his wife, of a grange in Walkerstrete, between the grange which John Cowper then held and that of Joan Grene, widow, for 70 years at an annual rent of 6s.8d. the tenants to keep the grange in good repair. Confirmed by Hugh Salford, master of the said Gild, and William Beley and William Stafforschire, proctors, with the assent of the aldermen of the gild Witnesses: John Burnam, `capitalis ballivus', Nicholas Mayel and Thomas Peyntour, `sub-ballivi', John Kynget, William Brasier, John Cowper, lcub;John rcub; William Mayue and others Dated at Stratford, Sunday after the Nativity of St. John Baptist, 9 Henry VI Seals of red wax.
