Indenture of lease from William Irton and Alice his wife, late wife of Thomas Smyth of Stratford upon Auen, to John Palmer, chaplain of the Gild of Stratford, of a shop with a solar built above it in Stratford in Shepustrete, between a tenement of the Gild of the Holy Cross on the east and another shop late of the said Thomas Smyth on the west, being 17 feet in length on the street, for 40 years at an annual rent of 5 shillings Witnesses: John Burnham, `capitalis ballivus', John Mayel junior, and Thomas Ballesale `subballivi', John Webbe, Robert Thorne and others Dated at Stratford, Monday on the morrow of the feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 14 Henry VI Seals (1) of red wax, oval.
