Indenture of lease from Thomas Phyllyppes master of the Gild of the Holy Cross etc. of Stratford upon Abon, with the assent of John Combes, William Phyllyppes, Thomas Taylor, Richard Lord, Hugh Raynoldes, Oliuer Lyghtfot, Henry Samwell and Thomas Whatley, aldermen, Thomas Bager and William Hannys, proctors of the said Gild, to Richard Symons of a barn with a garden in Stratford in Swyne stret then in the tenure of the said Richard Symons, for 90 years at a yearly rent of 4 shillings and the annual chief rent to the chief lords: with various conditions concerning repairs and arrears Dated in the hall of the Gild, 1 December, 28 Henry VIII. A fine impression of the seal of the Gild attached Endorsed in Symons' handwriting: `Memorandum yt I Richard Symons upon thys indentur have borroyed of Mr. Quyny the iiijth day of June anno E. regine vndecimo xxs. to be repayd ageyne when yt he shall be therof requyred'. And in a later hand: `The leyse of w supc;h I bought of Ryc. Symmons daytrs'
