Account of Henry Smyth and Thomas Plomer, Proctors of the Guild of the Holy Cross, from Michaelmas 49 Edward III. to Michaelmas 1 Richard II. (two whole years) The Account is rendered under the following headings Receipts. Of arrears (struck out) Rents. Including Legacies, c Rents resolute Delivery of Moneys In expenses delivered for the light (including amongst other payments:--12d for a winding sheet at the burying of a poorman; 14d for bread, beer, and fish, on Christmas Eve (?), c.) Cost of the houses (including 4s distributed amongst the poor for the anniversary of John Peyto for the past two years; payments for the vigil of Felicia Sultar, at Warwick, and for carrying the light to Warwick, c.) [Decay of rent.] [Miscellaneous Payments.] (Paid 22d for making a wall "apud Aulam," c.) There is a list of members of the Guild on the back of the roll headed:--"Interlocutio" of the Guild of the Holy Cross held on Sunday next after the Feast of the Epiphany 2 Richard II. The list is to show the payments made by the members at the "Interlocutio." With one exception 2d is paid by a married couple and 1d by a single person.
