It is a fragment of a letter addressed `Omnibus Christi fidelibus' by the Alderman and Chamberlains of the Gild of St. Mary the Virgin, in the Church of St. Botulph of Boston, in the Diocese of Lincoln, which commences by referring to various privileges granted to the Gild by Popes Nicholas V., Plus II, and Sixtus IV., the first mentioned being that of electing a confessor
