Description

Manor of Great Kington: surrender by Edward Welchman and Mary his wife to Lord Willoughby de Broke, lord of the manor, of a toft in Bridge Street in Great Kington, formerly in the tenure of Joseph White, with a hovel and garden, which toft measures 78 ft. in length and lies in width between the house of Philemon Williams and that now occupied by Thomas Malins, being 25 ft., and beyond the house of the said Thomas Malins 30½ ft., having the land formerly of Elizabeth Rowney, late of Mary Trotman and now of the said Edward Welchman on the north and the land formerly of Jane Morris and now of Philemon Williams on the south, to which property the said Edward Welchman was admitted 23 October 1799 as the heir-at-law of John Welchman, deceased, to the use of the said Philemon Williams of Great Kington, mercer, and his heirs for 300 years; admittance of the said Philemon Williams to the same.
