Description

Gift from William le Baillyf' of Coventr', chaplain, to Guy de Meryntone and Agnes his wife of a tenement lying opposite the Cross in the market place (alto foro) of Coventr' between the tenement which Nicholas Percy holds and the tenement which William de Lynne formerly held; also all that corner tenement lying at the Broad Gate (latam portam) in Coventr' between the tenement of Roger Oky and the tenement of Walter le Whitewebbe; also all lands, rents and tenements together with the incidents of wardship, reliefs, marriage,heriots, escheats, suit of court and all other profits which he has in Keresleye, and which he had by the grant of Henry le Baxtere of Coventr'; to hold the same of the chief lord of the fee. Witnesses: John Ward, bailiff of Coventr', Jordan de Shepeye, Roger le Hunte, Adam Basset', Nicholas Michel, Simon Pakemon, Henry de Melton', Elias de Stokwelle, Henry Bulbek' and many others. Dated at Coventr', Saturday in the feast of St. Margaret the Virgin, 16 Edward III. Seal on tag: circular, dark red. A cross engrailed. Legend: SANCTUS GEORGIVS.
