Description

Gift with warranty from John Dilcok of Coventre, merchant, to John Vnderwode of Coventre, clothier (pannario) of a messuage with a garden adjacent in Coventr' in Le Grey frer' lane between the tenement of the Guild of the Holy Trinity which John Jenyns holds and the tenement of Roger Houswyf; and the garden lies behind the said messuage extending in length from (per) a certain little hedge near a little house called Shur' which the said John Jenyns holds as far as Gabul house which Giles Allesley holds of the said Roger; to hold the same of the chief lord of the fee. Witnesses: Laurence Cook, mayor of Coventr', John Clerk and John Everdon', bailiffs of the same, Giles Allesley, Thomas Wirley, Richard Barbour and others. Dated at Coventre, 2 September, 8 Henry VI. Seal on tag: red, circular. An armorial shield: on a fess a crescent impaling bendy of three.
