Description

Gift from Thomas de Bello Campo earl of Warrewych' and Nicholas Lyllyng', knight to William Boule, clerk, and Henry Caytewayte, clerk, of the manors of Pynleye and Wykene with lands and tenements in Styvechale and £10 6s. rent with appurtenances in Magna Herdebourgh' to be taken from the Abbot and Convent of Comba; to hold the same on condition that if the said Earl is impleaded concerning the manors of Preston' and Uppyngham in Rutland by Baldwin de Frevyll', and loses them, then it shall be lawful for the said Earl and Nicholas to enter the said manors of Pynleye and Wykene and the said lands, tenements and rents for ever. Witnesses: John Toftes mayor of Coventr', John Northewode and Richard Duddeleye, deyster, bailiffs of the same Henry Kele, John Knygth', Richard Clerk', John Styward', John Marton' deyster and others.
