Description

Bond from Edward Bugges of Harlowe, co. Essex, esq., to John Bugges of Exall in Coventr' gent., in the penal sum of £170 the condition of that obligation being the performance of covenants for quiet enjoyment etc. contained in a conveyance of even date wherein the said Edward and Catherine his wife conveyed to the said John a messuage called Rayes Inn, with a garden belonging thereto, situated on the east side of Mutchparkestreet, Coventr', between the land of the Mayor and bailiffs of the said city on the south, and the land of Richard Barker draper, on the north, and also a croft adjoining the said garden, extending from the said garden on the northside 32 yards, in length by the wall next Whitfrere lane 39 yards, and in breadth 42 1/2 yards, and abutting the land of Richard Barker and William Harrys on the north, the land of William Harrys on the east, and Whitfrere lane on the south, which messuage garden and croft are in the tenure of John Barker. Dated: 20 September, 36 Elizabeth. Signed: Edwarde Bugges Seal on tag: circular, red. The letters E R, having a heart pierced with arrows between them, and with the letter I above and I D below.
