Description

Lease from Henry Over Bushill of Stretton-upon-Dunsmore, victualler, to John Perkins of Ryton-upon-Dunsmore, farmer, of four closes of arable or pasture land in Ryton-upon-Dunsmore near to Knightlow Field, containing together 14 acres 3 roods and 14 perches, bounded on the northwest by Leicester Road, on the northeast and southeast by certain ancient enclosed grounds now of William Dilke, esq. called the Barbeloes, and on the southwest by land now of John Huckell and Miers; which land, by an Enclosure Act of 1 George III, was awarded to Henry Over, grandfather of the said Henry, who was the proprietor of certain pieces of.land and common for three cows belonging to two cottages, and which land the said Henry Over devised to his wife Mary for life, and on her death to the said Henry Over Bushill; and which land is now in the occupation of the said Henry, reserving to him all the trees and the lops and crops of the same; to hold to the said John Perkins for 21 years rendering annually £16. 16s., with an additional £5 for every acre used for 3 consecutive years for tillage, an additional £5 for every acre not sown with clover and trefoil seed in the last of the said three years, and an additional £5 for every acre used for tillage in the last year of the said term of 21 years.
