Description

Gift with warranty from Thomas de Ferrariis son of William de Ferrariis, late lord of Groby, esquire, to Thomas de Ferrariis his son and Anne wife of the grantee, of all his lands, tenements, rents, reversions, etc. in Stychehall' iuxta Coventr' and Leemerston [Lea Marston] iuxta Colshill', excepting the mill called Allerforth' milne; to hold the same of the chief lord of the fee for ever; and should the said Thomas die without heirs, then the said lands would revert to the right heirs of Elizabeth, late the wife of the grantor. Witnesses: Richard Archear, esq., John Bate, dean of the Collegiate Church of Tamworth', Richard Bracebrigge, esq., Thomas Boughton', esq., John Bristoe of Coventr' and many others. Dated at Leemerston, 20 June 26 Henry VI Seal on tag; circular, red, armorial. On a shield couche; seven mascules conjoined; crest, on a helm a hound. Legend: S'THOME FERRERS DE GROBY.
