Description

Defeasance from Eustace Burneby of Coventrie, esq., and Alice Knightley of Perryhall, co. Staffs., spinster, to David Bull of Stychall alias Stivechall, gent; that if the said David Bull should perform the covenants contained in an indenture of even date between the said Eustace Burneby and Alice Knightley on one part and David Bull on the other part [no. 858] that then a recognisance in the nature of a Statute merchant of even date [no. 859], acknowledged before John Barker, mayor of Coventrie, and Richard Randall, gent., clerk, for taking such recognisances for the sum of 300 pounds, shall be null and void. Dated at beginning `30 Sept., 11 Chas. I' but at end `1636', the word `eleaventh' being written over an erasure. Signed: David Bull Seal on tag as in no. 858. Witnesses: William Gibbons, senior, William Gibbons, William Tilghman and Edward Moore. Endorsed: Mr. Bull, his defeazance uppon the statutes.
