Description

Copy of the will, dated 1 June 1883, of Francis Hood Gregory of Styvechale, esq., major in Her Majesty's 15th Regiment of Hussars, appointing his mother, Caroline Gregory, and his cousin, Alexander Frederick Hood, his executors and leaving all his real estate to his mother for life with reversion to his said cousin, and instructing his trustees to sell all his chattels and personal estate and to invest the money thereby raised, on the condition that his mother should enjoy the income arising therefrom for life, with reversion of both capital and income to his said cousin; with the proviso that the said Alexander Frederick Hood, within 12 months of succeeding to his cousin's estates shall take upon himself the surname of Gregory only and assume the arms of Gregory. Witnesses: Isaac P. Evans of Nuneaton, H.I. Tyler of Lincolns Inn Fields. No sign of probate.
