Description

Copy will of Sarah Higgins, Shipston-on-Stour, wife of John, gent. Reciting marriage settlement of John Higgins and Sarah Keitly, 9 June 1803, whereby premises at Shipston were vested in trustees for use of Sarah and John for her life, then to her children. In default of issue, for use of whoever Sarah appoints by deed or will. Sarah and John have no issue therefore i) Tenement and shop with slaughterhouse at the bottom of the Shambles, Shipston, with all household effects in testatrix' occupation to niece Elizabeth Henwood, Mitcham, Surrey, widow, for life, then equally between her 2 daughters Mary Ann and Sophia Henwood. ii) Copyhold land called The Cock Garden in Shipston, in occupation of Richard Brain, to testatrix' niece Catherine Brain, wife of Richard for life, but charged with annuity of £7 to great niece Sophia Henwood. Then equally to children of Catherine. iii) Four copyhold cottages and land in the Husbandman's End, Shipston, in the occupation of Thomas Hyde, John Bradley Eady Bradley and --- Scruby to niece Anne Lyne, wife of William, Shipston, currier, subject to £7 annuity to great niece Mary Ann Henwood. For life with remainder equally between children of Anne. Residue of real and personal estates to nephew Thomas Keitley, Shipston, farmer, and great niece Mary Ann Henwood equally. Executors: Thomas Keitley and Mary Ann Henwood. Proved at Worcester, 25 February 1826.
