Grant by Henry de Ponte of Stratford to Godfrey Mercer (Mercenarius) of Preston of a messuage in the street leading towards Henley, between land of the said Henry and land which Henry son of Hugh formerly held, at an annual rent of 6s. 6d. and 6d. annually to the lights of the Holy Cross. For which grant the said Godfrey has paid 16s Witnesses: Robert de Ponte, `prepositus' Robert le Couper, Richard de Legh', William Arundel, Nicholas Kyniot, John Whitesmith (Albus faber) John de Burley and many others. Endorsed: "Henry de Ponte, Henleyestret'. `Godefrey de Prestone' Undated Seal, white wax, circular, much broken. A star ornament. Engraved in Fisher's Antiquities, no.22
