Description

Account of work done, to set against arrears of rent owed by Bartholomew Benson of Kingshill, labourer, to John Gregory of Stivichall, gent., for 6 1/2 years at 20 shillings per annum. Items of work include hedging, ditching, thatching, carting, etc. as well as work done by his wife and daughter. This work he estimates at £5. 13s. 8d., therefore he owes the said John Gregory 16s. 4d. Witnesses: Robert Chadburne, Mathew Wenfettel, George Froom (by mark), Edward Oughton (by mark). Endorsed: Bartholomew Benson, his accompt for sixe yeares and a halfe rent due at Michaelmas last past.
