Letter from William Homber[ston] to Thomas Gregorye and Arthur Gregorye, thanking them for the offer they have made for the purchase of certain lands in Flechampsted but explaining why he cannot sell under 1400 pounds. Endorsed: i) To my verye assured frendes Mr. Thomas and Mr. Arthur Gregorye at Coventrye ii) Trial doth taist a faithful frend. Who douts to lose, dare not to lend [?AG]

Note: William Humberstone sold the manor of Fletchampstead to Sir Thomas Leigh later in the same year [V.C.H. vi, p.235].
