Description

Gift with warranty from Geoffrey de Stowthgton' and Matilda his wife to William Stowthton, their son, and Elena his wife, of their plot of ground in the town of Kynggeshull' with all lands and tenements, pastures and other appurtenances in the manor of Stonley; to hold the same to the said William and Elena and the heirs of their bodies of the chief lord of the fee, with remainder in default of issue of the said William and Elena to the right heirs of the said Geoffrey and Matilda; with a proviso that the said Geoffrey and Matilda continue to occupy the place where they live for the duration of their lives. Witnesses: John Slym of Stonley, John Colet of Hull', Richard by Water of Fynham, Thomas By ye Water of the same, John Lord of the same, and others. Dated at Hulle in the feast of St. Augustine, 5 Henry V. Seal on tag: circular, white; indecipherable. Slit for another tag and seal.
