Kingshill in Stoneleigh deeds and papers

Description

Memorandum by John Wikst[eed] and Robert Chadb[urne] that on Tuesday 15 March, 1630/1 Jane [Waiste of Ber]kswell, widow, administratrix of George Marbery, her uncle deceased, took her letters of administration and made entry into two houses in Stivichall, those of Richard Gregory, and Edward Sturton in the name of the whole, and left certain persons to keep possession. The said Jane afterwards entered on pasture ground in Brincklow called the Hill and there sealed and delivered her deed of assignment to John Gregory. All then returned to Stivichall and the witnesses were required to call on those who were left in possession of the two houses to see that they had not been disturbed and bid them come away.
