Description

Bond, being a statute staple, from Thomas Lord Leigh, Baron of Stoneleigh, to Loveisgod Gregory of Stevinghall, alias Stivechall, esq., to pay 400 pounds by the feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Mary next following.

Acknowledged before Thomas Laurence, mayor of Coventry, and Simon Burton, clerk of the statute (who sign).
Signed: Leigh.
Large, but rather poor impression of the seal of the Corporation on tongue, with another tongue below.
Endorsed: i) with memorandum that the bond was engrossed in the register on 14 Feb 1682/3 ii) 14 Febr' 1682, per Thomam Murcott, gen'
