Description

Depositions in the case between Arthur Gregory and Thomas Hill. On behalf of the said Arthur Gregory, Henry Brunt of Stychall, husbandman, aged 50, deposed that the inhabitants of Stychall may common in the Graunge Peeces, but that he is unsure of the rights of the inhabitants of Stonely to common there. He believes the tenants of Helinghull Graunge may common in Churche Feilde and Nether Feilde as far as Fynham. Robert Bennett of Stivechall, husbandman, aged 60, also on behalf of the said Arthur, deposed as Henry Brunt. On behalf of the said Thomas Hill, John Barrowes of Badby, co. Northants., aged 83, deposed that the said Thomas Hill and all those whose estate he has in the messuage and yard land, have had common of pasture in the Grange Peeces adjoining the Churchefieldes. He also deposed that at the time of the dissolution, the inhabitants of Stychall had asked the bishop of Coventry whether he had any evidences concerning their rights of common, but he had replied that he held only those for lands from which he drew chief rents.
