Description

Bond from Henry de Ferrariis of Groby, knight, to Richard Myldenhale, citizen and cordwainer of London', in 8 marks, for diverse harness bought from him for the use of Robert Okeburn' in 51 Edward III[Jan-June 1377] and in 2 Richard II [June 1378-June 1379], to be repaid to the said Richard at London', one half at Easter next and the other half at the feast of St. John the Baptist following. Dated at London', 4 July, 4 Richard II. Seal on tongue, circular, red; armorial. On a shield couche seven mascules conjoined, the shield surmounted by a plumed helmet and the whole within a cusped decorated border. Legend: [S'H------F]ERRARII[S D'NI] DE GROBY. Fine impression but damaged around the edge. Tie below.
