Description

a) Letter, dated at Charlecote, from John Lucy to Major Gregory, requesting payment of 200 pounds which Major Gregory's late mother in two letters had promised to pay, but had not done so, and also requesting that arrears for a chief rent from a meadow in Stonely be settled, reminding him lastly that `your father' had promised to pay both debts but then `being so long ill and then dieing and your mother surviving him so short a time that nothing hath been setteled'. Endorsed: Major Gregory. Stivichall. Red seal applied. b) Receipt, dated 17 November 1798, from John Lucy to Francis Grigory, esq., for 100 pounds, being part payment of a debt of 200 pounds owed by Arthur Grigory, late father of the said Francis, to the late George Lucy, esq. Written and signed by John Lucy.
