Lucas's Charity

Description

Copy will of Thomas Lucas of Stratford-upon-Avon, gent., with the following bequests: i) to Richard Lucas, his brother, `Williams howse with the lands that are in Thomas Normans holdinge' for life ii) to John Lucas his brother, `my other land that Fulford holdeth', for life, with remainder to his (John's) son, John. iii) to his said nephew, John Lucas, his lease of 2000 years of land in Horton and Lenchwick, together with rest of his land at Hardwick and `a moytie ... of the howse and lands which Joyce Hunt is estated in' iv) to Daniel Baker and William Smith, hatter, the house in Church Street which `I had of John Smith', in trust to pay the profits thereof to the almspeople of Stratford. With other minor bequests and conditions. Administration granted, 25 June 1625.
