Description

Mortgage from Henry Brandis Slatter, Jonathan Slatter and Henry Adkins, with the consent of William Pearce of Stratford-upon-Avon, watchmaker, to Mary Ann Hardy of Stratford-upon-Avon, spinster, (reciting a mortgage of 6 April 1858, DR244/32, and that the sum now owing on that mortgage had been reduced to £225 15s 4d.) for £225 15s 4d. paid to Henry Slatter, Jonathan Slatter and Henry Adkins, and for £324 4s. 8d. paid to William Pearce, of a messuage in High Street, late in the tenure of Thomas Nott, apothecary, since of John Pearce, watchmaker, and now of William Pearce, bounded on the south by a messuage of the Corporation lately leased to Thomas Nott but now in the tenure of Charles Frederick Loggin, and on the north by a tenement late in the occupation of Mr. Chattaway, mercer, since of Richard Chattaway and now of Henry Samman. Proviso for redemption of the said premises on the repayment of £550 by William Pearce to Mary Hardy. On verso: 5 March 1880: assignment of the above mortgage from Thomas Paul Potts of Stratford-upon-Avon, esquire, and Mary Ann his wife (formerly Mary Ann Hardy), with the consent of William Pearce, to John Callaway of Snitterfield, land steward.
