Lease and release, the release being: i) a conveyance from Edward Easthope of Old Stratford, gentleman, and William Bolton of the same, innholder, with the consent of Thomas Taylor of Stratford-upon-Avon, joiner, to John Gruby of Stratford-upon-Avon, ironmonger (reciting DR274/19, 21-22) for £20 (part of a total sum of £120 for which the following had been contracted to be sold), of a messuage in High Street divided into two tenements, in the tenures of Elizabeth Whitehead and ---- Ward, bounded on the north by a malthouse lately belonging to William Bolton, deceased, and on the south by a messuage late in the tenure of Benjamin Burbridge and now of John Gruby; also two rooms over a house late belonging to Mrs. Goode and since of William Bolton, deceased, and a piece of garden ground late in the tenure of Samuel Jarvis, since of Benjamin Burbidge and now of John Gruby, bounded on the south by Thomas Sheldon's garden, and on the east by the brewhouse late of William Bolton and now of William Whitehead; and one other garden late in the tenure of John Meacham, and now of Charles Pestell, bounded on the west by the garden late of John Izod and now of Charles Taylor, and on the south by a barn late of William Bolton ii) an assignment from Henry Homer of Boswell Heath, co. Worcs., administrator of the late Mary Higgins of Stratford-upon-Avon, widow, to Thomas Baldwin of Arrow, gardner, for £100 (part of the said total of £120) paid by John Gruby to discharge a recited mortgage of 24 June 1783 (DR274/19), of the said premises; to hold in trust for the said John Gruby to merge with the inheritance and freehold.
