Description

Mortgage by lease and release to secure £600 from Edmund Chambers of Milcote, farmer, to Thomas Woods Weston of Stratford-upon-Avon, gentleman (reciting DR316/5 and 32-33) the release being: i) a mortgage in fee of a messuage in Ely Street (sometimes called St. John's Place), late in the tenure of Mrs. Arabella Floyer, since of John Rowden Westbury, then of John Andrew Holmes, afterwards of ----, and now of Benjamin Townsend; also the site of a messuage with cottages adjoining, since taken down, and a schoolroom with sleeping rooms over the same, kitchen, back-kitchen and brewhouse erected in their place; which premises were also late in the tenure of John Andrew Holmes, since of ------, and now of Benjamin Townsend, and formed part of the square known as St. John's Place; ii) an assignment of a leasehold piece of garden ground at the top and on the south of Ely Street, late in the successive occupations of William Eaves, John Lord, John Rowden Westbury, John Andrew Holmes, and ------, and now of Benjamin Townsend, bounded on the west by gardens belonging to three messuages, late in the occupations of ---- Allan, ---- Hobday and William Porter, and now of Mrs. Easthope, ---- Wright and George Witherington, on the remaining part of the west by Rother Street, on the north by Ely Street, on the east by the first-described messuage, and on the south by buildings and gardens of Mrs. Izod, heretofore part of an orchard belonging to Messrs.
