Assignment from Thomas Betham of Bickmarsh, esquire (executor of Edward Wollascott, late of Sutton Courtney, co. Berks., gent., the executor of Thomas Wollascott of the same, gent., his father, the trustee of an indenture of 29 April 1668) at the direction of William Ives, late of Wickham, now of Aldershot, co. Hants., citizen and joiner of London, to John Blachford of London, refiner, in trust for James Wroughton of Wilcott, co. Wilts., esq., of a term of 2000 years in land in Rowington as security for a loan of £5000 from James Wroughton to William Ives. With the following recitals: i) 19 April 1668; demise for 2000 years from Richard Betham esq. (father of Thomas Betham) to Thomas Wollascott, James Wollascott and John Greenwood, of lands in Rowington (specified) in trust to raise £1200 for the younger sons and daughters of Richard Betham ii) that the sum of £1200 had been raised but the term not extinguished iii) that the freehold of the lands was now vested in Thomas Betham iv) that he had contracted with William Ives for the sale of all his property in Rowington including the said lands for £3980 v) that William Ives had also contracted with Thomas Viscount Fauconberg for the purchase of the rectory and diverse lands (not specified) in Rowington for £5300. vi) that James Wroughton had agreed to lend William Ives £5000 Endorsed with an assignment of the term of years in trust to attend the inheritance following the purchase of the lands in question on 23 May 1750 (see DR244/9-10)
