Grant by King Charles I to William Pelsant of Bosworth, Leics., in consideration of £14 paid by William Pelsant to the Receiver General of the Court of Wards and Liveries as a fine, of the custody, wardship and marriage of William Martyn (H.M. ward and son and heir of Alexander Martin, deceased) until attaining 21 years or marriage under that age. Signed: Robt. Naunton Attached is a Terrier of the extent and clear yearly value of all the manors, messuages, lands, etc., late of Alexander Martyn, late of Shawell, Leics., clerk, deceased the 25th December 1625, and which descended in possession and reversion to William Martyn his son and next heir, being of the age of 10 years 11 months and 8 days at the time of the death of his father. Property referred to:- The Manor of Newton with appurtenances, 3 messuages, 3 gardens, 42 acres of land, 5 acres of meadow, 16 acres of pasture, 1 acre of wood, 6 acres of furze and heath in Newton then in the tenures of Anne Martyn, widow, and Henry Pratt.
