Petitions from the Corporation of Stratford: (a) To Lord Chancellor Ellesmere for a further patent for the collection of alms for the relief of the town devastated `by a late greate fire', [1616]. See ER1/1/65. Folio 39 (b) To the Privy Council, that the erecting of thatched houses and stacking of `strawe furzes and other matter subject to fire' within the borough may be prohibited. [Circa 1616] Folio 41.
