Cheeke, Russell and Tipping families: Archer of Tanworth

+ Twelve bundles of letters, accounts and similar material relating to the financial affairs of Sir Thomas Tipping (died 1718). Some 280 documents relate to his debts, covering at least one occasion on which he was `taken up', one court action and several threats of action by creditors. Also included are about 200 other papers, including letters, receipts and cancelled bonds, some relating to a claim by Sir Thomas on the estate formerly belonging to the Piggott family of Doddershall, Bucks., from an earlier member of which family he was descended.
