Conveyance from James Cox of Stratford-upon-Avon, timber-merchant, and Ann his wife (late Ann Adams, widow of Thomas Adams, late of Stratford-upon-Avon, grocer, teadealer, linen-draper, and tallow chandler), James Cort of Leicester, gentleman, and Mary his wife ( late Mary Smith widow) and Job Richardson of Warwick, whitesmith, with the consent of John Botwell Adams and Thomas Adams, both of Birmingham, timber-merchants, and Sarah Adams of Stratford-upon-Avon, spinster (the children of the said Thomas Adams and Ann his wife) to the said James Cox and his trustee (William Morgan of Birmingham, gentleman) for £145, of a messuage in High Street late in the tenure of Thomas Adams and since of James Cox, and which has been taken down recently for the purpose of rebuilding. Recitals: i) 23 November 1820: will of Thomas Adams bequeathing all his real and personal estate to his wife Ann (now Ann Cox) and his friends Mary Smith (now Mary Cort) and Job Richardson, to hold in trust ii) 23 December 1820: no. 19 iii) January 1821: death of Thomas Adams iv) 25 December 1823: marriage of Ann Adams, widow, and James Cox. that James Cox had agreed to purchase the property subject to the mortgage of 23 December 1820.
