Description

Views of Shakespeare's Birthplace engraved and published by T.H. Ellis, 51 Jewin Street, London. The first, allegedly showing the house in 1849 engraved from a drawing by J.T. Clark, was in fact originally published in 1847. The second, showing the house in 1861-2 after restoration and published in 1870 is engraved from a drawing by F. Shephard
