Description

Gift with warranty from Henry le Baxtere of Coventr' to Sir William, baillif of Coventr', chaplain, of a tenement lying opposite the Cross in the market place (alto foro) between the tenement which Nicholas le Perci holds and the tenement which William de Lynne formerly held; also a corner tenement lying at the Broad gate (latam portam) in Coventr' between the tenement of Roger Oky and the tenement of Walter le Whitewebbe; also all his lands tenements rents etc. with the incidents of wardship, marriage, reliefs, heriots, escheats, suit of court and all other profits which he has in the vill of Keresleye; to hold the same of the chief lord of the fee. Witnesses: Jordan de Shepeye, John de Weston', William Graunpe, Nicholas Percy, Henry de Melton', Roger del Newelond, Elias de Stokwelle of Keresleye, Henry Bulbek' of the same, Thomas de la Fermerie, clerk, and others. Dated at Coventr', Monday next after the feast of St. Mark the Evangelist, 16 Edward III. Tag, seal lost. Endorsed: i) Munimentum Guydonis le Meryngton' et Agnetis uxoris eius ii) also sketch of a dimidiated shield: a fess impaling a bond sinister.
