Description

Lease with warranty from Richard Crasset of Stivechale to Thomas de Whissawe of Coventr', butcher, of a messuage with a certain croft and piece of meadow lying together in the close lying in Stivechal' between the tenement of Sir William de Leycestr' and the tenement of Jordan de Whikyn; to hold the same of the said Richard from Michaelmas 8 Edward III for 8 years, rendering 4 shillings at the customary terms in Stivechale; and the said Richard to maintain the said messuage at his own expense and to repair the same when necessary against wind and water. Witnesses: Roger Purfrey, Thomas le Baillif', William de Leycestr', Roger le Heyr, Thomas de Barewe, Henry Prent and others. Dated at Stivechale, Friday next after Michaelmas 8 Edward III. Seal on tag; circular, red. A pair of crossed gauntlets within a decorated, circular border. Legend: S' ROGER' DE PACWOD.
