Draft reconveyance by Thomas Hughes, Great Rollright, Oxon., yeoman, and James Harris, late Toddenham, now Brailes, yeoman (the executors and devisees in trust of Joseph Dix, Sibford Ferris, yeoman, deceased) to John Payton, S/A, gent. in consideration of £822.12s.6d, being principal and interest remaining on mortgage of £1000 of the Barn Ground, Old Stratford, being 3a 28p, together with part of the Long Ground taken by the Canal Company. Recitals (1) 3 Nov 1791 Mortgage by John Payton to Richard Osborne for £400. Repaid. (2) 5 Dec 1793 Will of Richard Osborne appointing his wife Mary sole executor. (3) 23 24 June 1803 Assignment by way of mortgage for £1000 by John Payton, with John Knowles, Middx., distiller, and Mary his wife (formerly Mary Osborne widow of Richard) to Thomas Hughes and James Harris with further assignment, to secure repayment, by Edward Welchman, Philemon Williams and John Lane, of 2 barns in Gild Pits held by lease of the Duke of Dorset. (4) 18 -- Repayment of £200.
