Gift from Alice Medewey and John Fox Bailiff of Rowynton to John lord of Bedford', William Buklond' esq., William Massy esq. and John Hunte of lands and tenements with meadows, pastures, feedings, woods, groves, hedges, ditches and appurtenances in Baddesley Clynton' and Rowynton' called Gylbertuslondes. To hold the same for ever from the chief lords of the fee for due and customary service. Sealing clause. Witnesses: John Harewell of Wotton'; Thomas Waryng of Tanneworth'; William Notyng of Rowynton'; Thomas Mason of the same; John Kylworth' of Clauerdon' and many others. Given at Baddesley Clynton' Monday next before the feast of St. James the Apostle 5 Henry VI [21 July 1427]. Two seals of red wax on tags: 1. Octagonal seal, cracked and imperfect. 3/4 in x 1/2 in . An eagle rising with wings displayed and inverted. Legend in upper portion of the seal indecipherable. 2. Fragment. [51/14]
