Description

Lease from Thomas lord of Baddesleye Clynton' to Dom Geoffrey rector of the church of Baddesleye for the term of the life of the said Geoffrey of three fields of arable land with a certain piece of meadow within the said fields together with hedges and ditches, and also one house next to the tenement of John Aleyn. The said fields lying between the tenement of the said John Aleyn on the one hand and the land of John de Pesham of Rowynton' on the other in breadth, and extending in length from the highway leading from Balishale towards Rowynton' as far as the wood called Haywode, the said fields formerly being held by John de Banneburi. The said Geoffrey to hold the same for the term of his life rendering annually to the said Thomas 2s. for twenty years after the feast of St. Michael 3 Edward III next coming [29 September 1329] at the two annual terms in equal portions, and after the term of twenty years for the annual rent of 100s., with the provision that if the said Geoffrey died within the said twenty years, his heirs and assigns should hold the same to the end of the term of twenty years at the annual rent of 2s.
