Description

Grant by Elizabeth Quyney, of Stratford upon Avon, widow, to the Bailiff and Burgesses of Stratford, of a yearly rent of 5 shillings from a tenement and garden in Stratford, near the `Meere side', now or late in the tenure of Thomas Vigars, adjoining another tenement and garden of the said Elizabeth on the north and east, a garden of Alice Smyth, widow, on the south and west, and a garden of the said Bailiff, etc. on the north and west, the same to be used towards the repair and maintenance of the great stone bridge over the Avon. Dated 20 March 15 James I [1618]. Signed, with seal, Latin. Witnesses: Julyne Shawe, Anthony Langston, Francis Smyth, William Wyatt and Henry Walker.
