Probate copy of the Will of William Hemmings of Shipston-upon-Stour, grocer. Real Property: to his wife, Ann, a messuage and farm called Bromhill Farm in Swalcliff [Swalcliffe] co. Oxford and a leasehold messuage in Sheep Street Shipston-upon-Stour formerly in the occupation of John Trinder, leased by the said William Hemmings from the Dean and Chapter of Worcester. To hold subject to the payment of an annuity of £10 to his nephew John Baylis. Bequests: to his said nephew John Baylis £200. If his wife Ann married again she was to have annuity of £30 from the above named lands which were then to pass to the said John Baylis and his heirs. If the said John died without such issue the said lands were to pass to John Spencer of Lower Brailes, farmer and his heirs. Appointed his wife, Ann Hemmings as Executrix. Witnesses: George Hall, solicitor, Shipston-upon-Stour and William Hall, his clerk. Will proved at Worcester. Estate sworn under £600. Testator died 20 May 1854. Probate dated 20 July 1854.
